The French SIF has chosen very concrete working positions:

• To intervene in the framework of legislative debate, French as well as European, every time that a rapid expansion of responsible investment can be favoured (i.e. law calling for generalisation of Employee Savings Plan, law creating a French Retirement Reserve Fund, a new European directive concerning the activities of professional retirement institutions);
• To take or support research initiatives concerning responsible investment (i.e.: practices for managing employee savings plans, fiduciary responsibility of administrators for funds, etc.);
• To regularly conduct surveys and inquiries into the practices of responsible investment and let the results be known to opinion leaders, as well as to the general public;
• To favour cooperation between concerned parties;
• To develop an international network of contacts.

Our actions can be divided into four categories:

1. Event organisation, in partnership with other national or international organisations;
2. Statements made about different legislative projects, on a national as well as European level;
3. Participation and contributions to collective reflections and actions with other important organisations (Europlace Sustainable Development Working Group, Comité 21, etc.);
4. Speeches made during events organised by other important organisations, on a national as well as European level.
